Verification
Assess whether a contact's identity and details appear accurate so your team can route conversations with clearer confidence.
Verify identity and contact details
Verification helps you understand whether a Contact's identity and provided information appear accurate. It focuses on whether the Contact appears to be who they claim to be by checking identity, Company affiliation, Contact information, and other provided details.
Verification is separate from qualification. A Contact can be qualified even when some information cannot be verified, and a Contact can be verified without being qualified for your business.
How verification works
The Agent reviews several dimensions when determining a Contact's Verification result. The main verification dimensions are:
- Company affiliation
- Authenticated Contact information
- Accuracy of provided information
The Agent uses available evidence from the Conversation, connected Channels, and reliable public sources. When information cannot be confirmed, the Agent records the uncertainty rather than automatically treating the information as false.
Company affiliation
Company affiliation determines whether the Contact appears to represent the Company they provided. The Agent may confirm Company affiliation through:
- A work email address that matches the Company's domain
- Public information showing that the Contact works for the Company
- Information provided during the Conversation
- Other reliable professional or Company sources
A matching work email address is a strong verification signal. However, a Contact may still have a legitimate Company affiliation even when they use a personal email address or have limited public information.
Authenticated Contact information
Authenticated Contact information determines whether the Contact has access to the email address or Channel they provided. The Agent may authenticate Contact information when:
- The Contact replies from the provided email address
- The Contact enters a one-time code sent to their email address
- The Contact interacts through an authenticated Channel
- The Contact completes another verification action supported by Inrepli
Authentication confirms that the Contact can access the provided Channel. Authentication does not confirm that the Contact is qualified or that every detail they provided is accurate.
Accuracy of provided information
The Agent checks whether the information provided by the Contact is consistent with available evidence. The Agent may review:
- Name
- Job title
- Company
- Work email address
- Phone number
- Company website
- Location
- Other information collected during the Conversation
The Agent looks for supporting information and inconsistencies. If the Agent finds conflicting information, the conflict is included in the Verification reason.
Verification levels
Each Contact receives one of three Verification levels: High, Medium, or Low.
High verification
High Verification means that strong evidence supports the Contact's identity, Company affiliation, and provided information. For example, a Contact may receive High Verification when they use a matching work email address, respond through that email address, and have public information confirming their role at the Company.
Medium verification
Medium Verification means that some information is supported, but one or more important details remain unconfirmed. For example, the Agent may confirm that the Contact controls their email address but may not find reliable information confirming their Company affiliation.
Low verification
Low Verification means that the Agent found limited supporting evidence, conflicting information, or signs that some information may be inaccurate. Low Verification does not automatically mean that the Contact is fraudulent or should be rejected.
Some legitimate Contacts may have limited public information or may choose not to complete additional verification steps.
Verification reason
The Agent provides a summary explaining the assigned Verification level. The summary may include:
- Information that was confirmed
- Information that could not be confirmed
- Evidence supporting the assessment
- Conflicting information
- Verification actions completed by the Contact
The Verification summary helps your team understand the result without repeating the full verification process.
Channel verification
Inrepli also verifies individual Contact Channels. A Channel may include:
- Email address
- Phone number
- Website chat identity
- Messaging account
- Other connected Contact methods
When a Channel is verified, Inrepli records the date and time of verification. The verification timestamp helps your team understand when the Channel was last authenticated and improves Contact data quality for future follow-up campaigns.
A previously verified Channel may become outdated. Your team should consider the verification timestamp when deciding whether additional verification is needed.
Spam detection
The Agent monitors inbound messages and Conversations for potential spam across connected Channels. Spam may include:
- Automated promotional messages
- Irrelevant solicitations
- Fraudulent requests
- Malicious content
- Messages that do not represent a legitimate business opportunity
Messages and Conversations identified as spam are placed in the Spam folder. Your team can review the Spam folder when needed. Spam detection does not permanently delete the Conversation.
After a Contact is confirmed to be spam, the Agent will stop responding to that Contact.
Require email verification before scheduling
Require a Contact to verify their email address before they can book a meeting. This helps prevent meetings from being booked with incorrect, inaccessible, or fraudulent email addresses.
Contact requests a meeting
The flow starts when the Contact requests to schedule a meeting.
Send a one-time code
Inrepli sends a one-time code to the email address the Contact provided.
Enter the verification code
The Contact enters the one-time code to continue.
Verify the email channel
Inrepli verifies the email Channel after the code is confirmed.
Show available meeting times
After verification succeeds, the Contact can view available meeting times.
If the Contact does not complete verification, they cannot continue to meeting selection. You can enable this setting in the Personal Settings' Calendar section.
How to use verification results
Review Verification together with the rest of the conversation signal, not as a standalone decision. The most useful inputs to consider alongside Verification are:
- Qualification
- Conversation context
- Contact intent
- Your team's judgment
A Low Verification result does not always mean that a Contact should be rejected. A High Verification result does not mean that the Contact is qualified, so use Verification together with context and team judgment.
